Building Thermography

WHAT IS THERMAL IMAGING?

Infrared thermography is the technique used to produce an image of invisible infrared light emitted by objects due to their thermal condition. All objects emit infrared light, which as humans we sense as heat. However using the latest infrared camera technology (Flir B400) we can produce an instant onscreen image of the heat properties behind walls, floors, and ceilings. This means that the camera can detect and document thermal anomalies anywhere within a building that are often invisible to the naked eye. Thanks to this technology we can quickly seek out and solve many leaky building and moisture problems.

WHEN IS THERMAL IMAGING REQUIRED?

Thermal Imaging can be complimentary to a standard building inspection or can be carried out as a “stand alone” Thermal Imaging inspection. It is particularly useful for Monolithic clad homes as these are at a higher risk of having moisture issues. Infrared Technology can identify moisture and insulation issues within a home, that are otherwise unrecognisable and aren’t found during a standard building inspection.

WHAT’S THE PROCESS?

01.

Get in touch with us either over the phone or via the contact form on our website so we can discuss the property you’re intending to image and we can give you a cost estimate.

02.

We can then arrange a time to meet at the property of your choice, While we prefer that you the customer are present at the time of inspection this is not always necessary. An inspection on an average size home takes approx 1.5 – 2 hrs.

03.

Once we have completed the inspection we will discuss with you our findings in an easy to understand language, depending on your needs we then take the information away and compile a report of our findings. A full documented report including photographs can be emailed back to you within 48 hours or even faster if needed.

04.

Once you have the findings, you can engage a building contractor, plumber, or electrician to come in and fix this issue. If you don’t have anyone in mind, we can recommend one for you. You as the customer will be the only person that sees the report we will not hand the report to any third party, What you do with it after you receive it is totally up to you.
