Electrical Thermography

WHAT IS ELECTRICAL THERMOGRAPHY?

Thermography (often called Infrared) is a non-contact, two dimensional and real time way of measure the thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal (or infrared energy) is light that is not visible to the naked eye and we perceive it as heat. Our infrared cameras produce interpretable images of invisible heat radiation giving us a unique ability to measure heat without contact.

Nearly any piece of electrical equipment will get increasingly hot before it fails. This means with infrared cameras we can detect this before a major failure. Thermal imaging is an extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tool in electrical work, with a wide-ranging and diverse number of applications.

WHEN IS ELECTRICAL THERMAL IMAGING REQUIRED?

Both domestic and commercial customers can benefit from electrical diagnostics performed with thermal imaging. Our comprehensive electrical thermal imaging reports are often required by; Insurance companies, Property Managers, Landlords and Homeowners. Our inspections cans be used to check for a number of electrical issues:

  • When systems are under load
  • Identify overheating components
  • To take a wide view of your systems heat distribution
  • To identify and locate trouble spots
  • To tell you exactly what needs to be fixed or replaced
  • To plan and manage repairs before unexpected and potentially expensive breakdowns occur

WHAT’S THE PROCESS?

01.

Get in touch with us either over the phone or via the contact form on our website so we can discuss the property you’re intending to image and we can give you a cost estimate.

02.

We can then arrange a time to meet at the property of your choice, While we prefer that you the customer are present at the time of inspection this is not always necessary. An inspection on an average size home takes approx 1.5 – 2 hrs.

03.

Once we have completed the inspection we will discuss with you our findings in an easy to understand language, depending on your needs we then take the information away and compile a report of our findings. A full documented report including photographs can be emailed back to you within 48 hours or even faster if needed.

04.

Once you have the findings, you can engage a building contractor, plumber, or electrician to come in and fix this issue. If you don’t have anyone in mind, we can recommend one for you. You as the customer will be the only person that sees the report we will not hand the report to any third party, What you do with it after you receive it is totally up to you.
